About the role
The Technical Writer and Editor will play a key role in shaping and maintaining the clarity, accuracy, and compliance of technical documentation. This position ensures that documents support cross-functional alignment and meet internal and regulatory standards. This role will collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and regulatory teams while also contributing to document control workflows.
What you'll do
- Track, review, and route documents for approval, revision, and archival in accordance with company procedures and standards.
- Work with engineering, quality, regulatory, and project teams to ensure timely documentation support and updates.
- Assist in the development and editing of technical documents, specifications, procedures, and forms in accordance with company procedures and standards.
- Translate complex, technical concepts into clear, concise, and audience-appropriate content.
- Assist with document control responsibilities, including the following:
- Maintain, organize, and manage controlled documents within the document management system (Siemens Teamcenter).
- Coordinate document numbering, formatting, and metadata to ensure consistency and traceability.
- Work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in technical writing and/or editing within a regulated or engineering-focused industry.
- Proficient in technical writing, editing, and formatting documents with strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and excellent communication skills.
Preferred
- Knowledge of change management workflows and revision control systems.
- Experience supporting engineering teams in highly regulated environments.
- Understanding of drawing and specification control, including revision history and distribution management.
- Familiarity with ASME, ISO, or DOE/NRC documentation requirements.
- Experience with Siemens Teamcenter or a comparable PLM/document control platform strongly preferred.
