Position Duties
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents in this position. - Verifies, codes, and routes invoices for approval; obtains required signatures and submits them to the Finance Department
- Reconciles monthly credit card statements; codes transactions, confirms receipt uploads, and secures necessary approvals
- Prepares, submits, and tracks employee expense vouchers and reimbursements
- Maintains accurate and accessible budget records through regular updates of debit and credit entries
- Reviews employee timesheets and payroll reports; identifies and troubleshoots discrepancies
- Tracks and maintains records of active grants; verifies receipt of funds and ensures proper payroll and budget coding
- Identifies, reconciles, and resolves discrepancies in accounting and data records
- Utilizes Excel and accounting software to complete financial tracking and reporting tasks
- Oversees funds collected from kiosks and office services; verifies receipts, balances cash, and prepares accurate deposits
- Collaborates and communicates regularly with the County Finance Department to ensure timely, accurate processing and adherence to guidelines
- Assists staff with questions related to financial forms, reimbursements, and timesheets
- Prepares reports, correspondence, and summaries of financial data
- Performs general office duties, including answering phones, preparing correspondence, and using office equipment
- Maintains confidentiality of non-public records and makes available all data and information deemed a public record by the North Dakota Century Code
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and at least three (3) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Associate degree in accounting or a related field and at least one (1) year of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a closely related field
- Must pass a thorough background investigation
- Must possess a valid North Dakota Driver’s License
Other Qualifications
Compensation: Starting pay ranges from $26.11 to $28.72 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
