Manufacturing Engineer – Assembly
Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Engineer will have responsibility for support and improvement of assembly areas in Plant-3. Applies engineering expertise to problem solving manufacturing issues and delivering systems and processes designed to create greater efficiencies to the manufacturing environment.
Job responsibilities:
- Support Operations and Trades with plant equipment issues
- Support product quality issues
- Develop and implement continuous improvement and cost savings
- Lead and support in the development, specification, validation, and installation of new equipment and retools in assigned area.
- Utilize project management skills to plan and execute assigned projects; manage tooling budget as required
- Understand & lead safety/ergonomic requirements
- Communicate and collaborate with all stakeholders: Engineering, Trades, OPS etc. to meet customer needs
- PFMEA Development and Support
- Plant CN processing in your area
- Support plant quality and safety audits and supporting documentation
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
- 2 years previous experience with ME tools and equipment design and build or equivalent Plant ME experience.
- Working knowledge of assembly manufacturing processes including pressing, fastening, fixturing, vision systems, data collection and tool design
- Working knowledge of basic pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical controls
- Knowledge and interest in process automation and robotics
- High level of analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good computer skills
- Knowledge of Problem Solving Techniques (ie: Fast-X, Shainin, Six Sigma)
- Knowledge of GD&T
