Hybrid New Media Producer at Riverbay Corporation

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with Editor-in-Chief, Managing Editor and Co-op City Times team to conceptualize, script and develop video news clips, features, short broadcasts, as well as other programming, that correspond with overall program objectives to inform, educate and promote community pride among shareholders.
• Oversee all aspects of video production, including location scouting, setting up cameras, lighting and audio equipment, staging, filming and post-production.  
• Collaborate with Riverbay’s Technical and Electrical teams, among others, to manage, support, set-up and break down equipment at indoor and outdoor events, including live broadcast/streaming of monthly Riverbay Board of Directors meetings, annual Board election Candidates’ Forums, news conferences, community meetings and events on in-house TV channels and YouTube.
• Troubleshoot and problem-solve technical issues during tapings and live broadcasts to ensure professional quality products.
• Work with editors and other team members to finalize videos for publication, including editing, color correction, and sound. 
• Develop project timelines, budgets, coordinate available resources, identify operational gaps, and ensure projects stay on schedule. 
• Maintain clear and effective communication with supervisors throughout the production process.
• Continuously research and implement new technologies and industry best practices to maximize efficiency.
• Submit monthly progress and project reports to supervisor. 

Educational Requirements:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Film & Media, Video Arts & Technology, Visual Communications, Digital Media or Journalism
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Experience and Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in video production, photography, social media, copywriting and editing, and video and editorial project management  
• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, Adobe Media Encoder, Adobe After Effects a plus
• Knowledge of Mac computers a plus
• Available to work some evenings and weekends
• Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time
• Excellent multi-tasker; ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven and often changing environment 
• Strong interpersonal skills; writing, communications and organizational skills; stellar project management
• Understanding of industry best practices 
• Portfolio of completed projects, collaborations, course work, internships

Testing:

• Drug screening, as permitted by, and consistent with, applicable law.

Physical Requirements: 

Persons performing service in this position classification may routinely exert up to 55 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This type of work will involve regular walking or standing for extended periods of time. It may involve stooping or bending. Handling and working with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
