Job Responsibilities:
Supporting Teacher:
Assists teacher with everyday tasks
Assist with parents and students in communicating information from and/or to the teacher
Help create a safe and inviting environment
Assist in the supervision of students
Instructional Assistant:
Work with small group of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher
Interact with cooperative work groups and assist with group instruction
Provide immediate feedback to students concerning their learning as directed
Care of and create materials for classroom use
Assis with non-instructional classroom duties; i.e snacks clothing, etc
Playground Responsibilities:
Supervises students at play-time on the playground and maintains a harmonious atmosphere on the playground
Follows prescribed disciplinary procedures used in the classroom and building
Directs and supervises movement of groups to and from the playground
Cares for and inspects playground equipment to ensure safety
Performs any other tasks as deemed appropriate by the building principal and/or the teacher

Essential Functions, Scope:
To assist principal, teacher, peers and students to support quality instruction and to provide a safe, caring and enjoyable learning environment with individual students or small groups to help them achieve success
Training/Education Requirements:
High School Diploma
Must possess computer skills
Demonstrate aptitude for the work to be performed
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work; those activities where detailed or import spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
The worker is subject to environmental conditions.
The worker should provide consistent and reliable attendance.
