The Staff Accountant will perform various administrative duties in support of the Corporate Finance department including the monthly closing process; perform balance sheet and income statement account analysis, and other ad-hoc requests and special projects, as needed.
Salary range based on experience: 70K – 75K per year
Hybrid - Two days in the office each week
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares month-end journal entries, accruals, and allocations.
- Prepares specific general ledger account reconciliations and assists with resolution of reconciling items.
- Performs daily batch invoicing and printing for all departments.
- Ensures all new stock, demo, rental and usage assets are properly financed within 30 days of vendor invoice.
- Performs additions of fixed assets in Sage Premier Depreciation.
- Performs monthly depreciation generation and postings.
- Tracks all installment sale contracts to ensure proper billing and reporting on financial performance.
- Assist in the external year-end audit process.
- Suggests cost savings ideas and develops plans of implementation.
- Completes ad-hoc reporting, analysis and special projects as assigned to support ongoing business needs.
- Performs daily Accounts Payable invoice posting.
- Provide back up support for AP payment process, and daily banking needs.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, JSOX, and other company policies.
- Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of MS office, specifically with Excel functions such as spreadsheets, formulas, and pivot tables
- Knowledge of general ledger account analysis and reconciliation.
- Ability to work well under pressure and with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines,
- Ability to exercise independent judgement to make recommendations for improvement on existing processes and procedures.
- Ability to articulate and communicate with all levels of an organization both internally and externally.
- Ability to manage changing priorities, multi-task, and exhibit an orientation to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and a minimum of one year of general ledger and account analysis experience. Must be a self-starter who possesses an attention to detail and solid communication abilities. Strong technology skills are preferred with particular expertise in Microsoft Excel, SAP Concur, and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
