The Deli Manager is a dynamic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of deli operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, customer satisfaction, and profitability. The Deli Manager is expected to foster a positive work environment through effective coaching, training and development, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily deli operations, including food preparation, service, and customer interactions.
- Manage and motivate a team of deli staff, providing coaching and training to enhance performance.
- Implement and maintain food safety and sanitation protocols, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking, to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and improve customer service.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, including profit and loss (P&L) management, to achieve budgetary goals.
- Create and manage employee schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet customer demand.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to strict cleanliness standards.
- Address and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally, demonstrating excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with the management team on marketing initiatives to promote deli offerings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in restaurant management or food services, with a focus on deli operations.
- Thorough knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Working knowledge of inventory management and ordering procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including the ability to coach and train employees.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- General knowledge of computer literacy, including point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Experience with profit and loss (P&L) management.
- Experience with marketing and promotional activities.
- ServSafe certification.
