Job Summary
Under the supervision of the UCSF Department of Medical Oncology and guided by the policies and procedures, rules and regulations, and bylaws of the UCSF Medical Center, some Nursing Policies, and, Medical Staff Policies, and any unique to inpatient or ambulatory patient services (for those APPs providing services both in the inpatient and ambulatory environments) this Physician Assistant (PA) position is assigned to Adult Infusion Services. This APP position may perform delegated functions as appropriate to their “scope of practice”. APP provides direct care to patients with multiple, often complicated chronic medical problems in the Infusion Center setting. This position may provide coverage at multiple infusion sites. Assignments at this level may include the direction of continuity of care for patients with multiple medical problems; providing direct care to this group of patients, responsibility for occasional community teaching programs, participation in program planning, and development of patient and staff education information. PA consistently projects a professional and courteous demeanor
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $87.66 to $108.99 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications
- Two (2) to Five (5) years recent experience inpatient oncology experience working as a Physician Assistant
- Demonstrated clinical experience in managing patients undergoing chemotherapy and/or biotherapy administration, patient education, and care coordination.
- Possesses the skills, knowledge, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the assigned position
- Able to document competent performance of the skills required to perform in the role described.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, professional, computer and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse professional and patient population.
- Ability to satisfactorily perform job duties as defined in the job duties/ functions.
- Demonstrated excellence in the following areas: clinical practice, communication, clinical case management, leadership/problem identification/resolution, and teaching
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations
Preferred Qualifications
License/Certification
- Active and current California Physician Assistant License (PA)
- California driver’s license (CDL) if required for position
- Current national board certification by first day of work and maintain
- Complete Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration with Schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 registered to a California address
- Complete an AAPA recognized graduate master’s degree program as a physician assistant.
- Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through the credentialing process by first clinical day.
- Current AHA BLS
UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
