Requirements / Qualifications
Valid California Credential:
Current Career Technical Education (CTE): Arts, Media & Entertainment credential
-OR-
Ability to qualify for the Preliminary Career Technical Education (CTE) Credential based on Industry Experience.
(Note:If offered employment: Candidate must enroll in the CTE Teaching Credential Program through the San Diego County Office of Education)
To qualify for a CTE Credential, candidate must meet the following criteria to be considered for this credential:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Three (3) years (*3000 hours) of work experience directly related to the industry sector needed, with at least one year of hands-on experience,
and recency of one (1) year in the last five (5) years, or two(2) years within the last ten (10) years.
(Note: One year equals a minimum of 1000 clock hours and experience my be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid.)
Qualifying Employment Verification Options:
Documentation of work experience: Must be able to provide letters to document work experience by any of the following:
Employer Available Verification; Employer Unavailable Verification or Self-Employment Verification
Official Transcripts — showing relevant coursework (48 semester units = two years experience)
Advanced Industry Certifications (can equal one year of experience)
Verification of General Education Teaching Experience (can equal one year of experience)

Salary Info
Per the Teacher Salary Schedule (Note: Up to ten (10) years of teaching experience for credit on the salary schedule for public school teaching experience outside the district but within the US, for maximum step placement of Step eleven (11).
