SOSi is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Engineering Branch Chief to lead a multidisciplinary team supporting a key government contract. The successful candidate will oversee engineering operations, serve as primary engineering interface with our customer, ensure technical excellence, and manage personnel and resources to meet mission-critical objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership and communication skills, and an understanding of essential engineering principles in a government or defense environment.
Responsibilities:- Serve as the primary technical liaison between government/military INDOPACOM HQ customers and contractor engineering staff, ensuring seamless communication and alignment of technical objectives.
- Establish long-term strategic plans for the engineering branch and ensure alignment with enterprise-wide objectives.
- Act as the senior representative for the engineering branch in cross-organizational and customer-facing engagements.
- Develop and implement engineering policies, procedures, and quality assurance measures to ensure alignment with organizational goals and government/military standards.
- Oversee the planning, communication, and execution of engineering tasks in accordance with government/military customer direction and timelines.
- Coordinate engineering efforts with Engineering Lead and across multiple teams and disciplines to ensure integrated solutions and efficient workflows.
- Oversee and structure engineering team organization for efficient and effective performance of engineering tasks
- Lead and oversee a team of engineers and technical staff across multiple disciplines and time zones, providing clear direction, supervision, and support to achieve project and organizational objectives.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth within the engineering branch.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and best practices, including government policies, cybersecurity requirements, and industry benchmarks.
- Conduct periodic audits and reviews to validate adherence to policies and procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff, ensuring the development of technical expertise and leadership within the team.
- Facilitate training initiatives and professional development opportunities for engineering personnel.
- Support proposal development by providing technical input, cost estimates, and resource allocation plans.
- Collaborate with program management on budgeting, resource planning, and staffing requirements for engineering projects.
- Monitor project performance, risk, and schedule to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of engineering solutions.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans for critical engineering challenges.
- Represent the engineering branch in technical reviews, audits, and briefings, ensuring accurate and effective communication of technical achievements and challenges.
- Provide authoritative input during program reviews, customer briefings, and strategic planning sessions.
- Evaluate engineering processes, workflows, and tools to identify areas for improvement and increased efficiency.
- Drive innovation and adoption of emerging technologies to enhance enterprise IT capabilities.
- Regularly interface with government/military customers to assess needs, expectations, and satisfaction with engineering services.
- Ensure engineering solutions are tailored to customer requirements and mission objectives.
- Compile and deliver comprehensive branch-level reports summarizing accomplishments, challenges, and resource needs to senior leadership.
- Ensure proper custody, accountability, and reporting of government-owned equipment and assets within the branch.
- An Active in-scope TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT Architecture, or a related technical field; OR equivalent experience.
- Minimum ten years of IT experience, with at least five years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Experience working with or for government agencies or in a DoD government contracting environment.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering, project management, and lifecycle development.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Customer-service oriented with a willingness to participate and assist.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in IT solutions implementation, administration, troubleshooting and support.
- DoD 8570 IAT-II compliant (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
- Well-versed in Department of Defense (DoD) protocols, procedures and regulations
- Five or more years of experience supporting Engineering Projects or Operations and Maintenance (O&M).
- Experience in ITIL framework and ITIL best practices.
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
- Requires periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary.
- Fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Occasional travel may be required, both domestically and internationally, to visit project sites or other locations as needed.
