POSITION TITLE: Vice President of Risk Management

ORGANIZATION MISSION:
The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay is to enable all young people, especially those who need us the most, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, caring citizens.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Vice President of Risk Management is a key member of the senior leadership team at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive risk management strategies to ensure the safety, compliance, and operational integrity of all Club facilities and programs. The VP will lead teams responsible for facilities management, safety and security, licensing and regulatory compliance, and transportation services.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement organization-wide risk management policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including licensing requirements for youth-serving facilities.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments across all Club sites.
- Supervise the Facilities Management team to ensure all Club locations are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with applicable codes.
- Oversee capital improvement projects and maintenance planning.
- Lead the development and enforcement of safety protocols, emergency preparedness plans, and incident response procedures.
- Provide training and resources to staff on safety and crisis management.
- Oversee the transportation program, ensuring safe and efficient transport of youth.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and maintain vehicle safety standards.
- Manage and mentor department directors and managers in the areas of facilities, safety, compliance, and transportation.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and proactive risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align risk management strategies with organizational goals.
- Prepare and present reports to the Board-Led Safety Committee and senior leadership on risk-related matters.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Public Administration, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience in risk management, compliance, or operations, preferably in a nonprofit or youth-serving organization.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, licensing standards, and facility operations.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and large-scale operational programs.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to Club locations across the region.
TRAVEL:
Travel may be required to multiple club facilities throughout Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties using your own vehicle. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.
