Alice & Bob is developing the first universal, fault-tolerant quantum computer to solve the world’s hardest problems.
The quantum computer we envision building is based on a new kind of superconducting qubit: the Schrödinger cat qubit. In comparison to other superconducting platforms, cat qubits have the astonishing ability to implement quantum error correction autonomously!
We are at the forefront of the quantum race, competing with tech giants such as Google or IBM, and we are growing fast after securing €100 million of funding in 2025 to develop our unique technology.
Currently 100+ and counting, between physicists, PhD students, engineers and experienced business professionals, we are united to reach our ambitious goal. Are you a quantum pioneer? Join us on a mission to reshape the future!
As part of the Quantum Hardware and Infrastructure department, the Hardware Platform Operation (HPO) team is created to operate the cryoplatform. This platform represents a major investment: HPO team will focus 100% on operational excellence and quality, to ensure the highest availability rate.
The Hardware Platform Operation team is at the intersection of hardware quantum characterization and operations, cryogenic systems, RF control electronics, and industrialization, working inside the Hardware Platform Operation team, alongside other engineers and technicians, this position’s role is in charge for the assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of different RF and electronics instrument and cabling, as well as mechanical racks, used in our quantum computer installations.
Responsabilites
implement new cabling schemes of instruments inside the racks
implement new instruments into the rack
Modify / reorganize the rack structure to optimize the operations
Perform the daily monitoring, testing, and maintenance of control electronics
Run acceptance test on instruments and cables, following established procedures.
Produce test reports
Assist in debugging potential issues within cabling / instrumentation / network , as well as communicate with other users on the potential root cause(s)
Assist in stock management for all parts needed in the implementation of the racks
Interface with different team including quantum experimentalist, hardware, infrastructure, purchasing, IT,…
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineer, RF Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Competence in interpreting electrical schematics and bills of materials.
Experience with assembly of precision mechanical, electrical, and electronic prototypes.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive and positive attitude.
Nice to have : Business proficiency in English is preferred. Experience in assembling and configuring instrumentation racks, including RF signal wiring, coaxial wiring, is a plus. Experience of working with electrical test equipment (oscilloscope, VNA, spectrum analyzer, multimeter, etc.) is a plus. Knowledge of KICAD is a plus.
