Tri Pointe Connect, the mortgage affiliate of Tri Pointe Homes, is looking for an experienced individual to join our talented group in Arizona as a Sr. Accountant. This position is located in Scottsdale, AZ and will work a hybrid work schedule (M-W in office, Th-F remote).

 

Position Summary: 

Key contributor to the financial operations of Tri Pointe Connect. Responsible for daily accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Provide expertise in analyzing financial data, preparing financial statements, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.

 

Responsibilities:

• Complete analysis of the balance sheet and income statement accounts ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accounting principles.
• Support the audit process by compiling audit schedules, communicating with external audit firms, and providing financial documents as requested.
• Facilitate the month end closing process by collaborating with internal teams, gathering financial data, and delivering month-end reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assist with daily banking activities.
• Prepare journal entries according to accounting principles and procedures.
• Manage the sales and use tax and personal property tax process including oversight of additions/deletions of fixed assets.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field
• 4 or more years experience in the banking or mortgage industry with 2 or more years in accounting; warehouse banking experience preferred

 

Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Advanced mathematical and analytical skills
• Excellent MS Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and other data extraction tools
• Working knowledge of Loan Vision, AMB and business intelligence/ERP software strongly desired
• Ability to deliver results in a timely manner with exceptional attention to detail
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize multiple tasks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Physical Requirements:

• May be sedentary for extended periods, 4 or more hours per day
• Visual acuity for detailed computer work
• Using fine motor skills for tasks requiring precision such as typing
