Job Summary: You will serve as a HEALTH TECHNICIAN in the NMRTC CAMP LEJEUNE NC. THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE ANNOUNCEMENT. Section 1109 of the National Defense Authorization Act Fiscal Year 2020 Public Law 116-92 amended Section 9905 of title 5, United States Code (U.S.C.) to streamline and simplify certain Department of Defense civilian Direct Hire Authorities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates directly to certain positions in the competitive service in the Department of Defense.
Major Duties:
- You will be responsible for conducting and documenting environmental health surveys at various commands/activities and participate in pre and post survey conference.
- You will review activities environmental health inspections and/or occupational safety and health records.
- You will maintain calibration schedule and calibrates industrial hygiene sample/test equipment to include pre/post calibration.
- You will input monitoring results into appropriate databases.
Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing practical knowledge of industrial hygiene concepts, principles and practices. Experience applying knowledge of Industrial hygiene test/monitoring equipment. Experience applying knowledge of medical surveillance requirement for occupations. Experience conducting inspections, providing guidance and making recommendation for preventing/eliminating unsafe health practices and conditions. Experience using computers proficiently and specifically MS Office applications.
