Job Description

The integrated Nutrition Intervention for Community and Health Enhancement Laboratory (iNICHE Lab) is a cutting-edge laboratory where integrated and interdisciplinary research is conducted to inform research, teaching, outreach/extension, individual/population lifestyles, practice and policy decisions. The iNICHE Lab focuses on improving nutrition, health, and quality of life among different populations through community-based and clinical nutrition interventions using innovative technologies.

The Program Coordinator I position will be responsible to plan, coordinate and organize day-to-day program operations and activities; assist program staff in a variety of research and evaluation activities; serve as a resource in the area of program financial and budgetary processes; coordinate flow of communication and information; maintains confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information, coordinates special events and projects as required in a timely manner.

This position is funded by a grant or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grant or restricted funding.

This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.  

Responsibilities:

  • Work with program directors, research staff, project management, budget management and funding agency staff on proposal development.

  • Manage education, research and extension/outreach resources (application platform, FAQs, respond to help-desk questions, application deadlines) to monitor and provide near real-time responses.

  • Prepare, and maintain budgets, financial reports, purchasing, and other documents.

  • Plan, develop, implement, coordinate, and monitor programs and services with confidentiality.

  • Support research project daily significant impact through recruitment, enrollment, retention, trainee achievement, analysis, experimentation and outreach efforts.

  • Coordinates, schedules and attends a variety of meetings, workshops and special events including conferences.

  • Facilitates communication, and development of program materials.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 2 years of related work experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, public health, or related field.

  • 2 years of experience in nutrition, dietetics, or public health research.

  • 3-5 years program support and financial experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Operation of database, presentation, graphics, word-processing, and research software systems.

  • Technical writing and data presentation.

  • Interpersonal skills including tact, patience and courtesy.

  • Strong organizational, and customer service skills.
