The Role

Apollo Global Management is seeking an experienced and strategic professional to join the ACS team in New York. This individual will play a pivotal role in driving the execution and settlement of complex credit transactions across both primary syndication and secondary trading.

Serving as the key operational and cross-functional liaison, the Director will partner closely with Capital Markets, Legal, Operations, Middle Office, and Tax teams to ensure seamless transaction flow from trade inception through final settlement. This is a high-impact role within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial platform, offering the opportunity to shape scalable infrastructure at one of the world’s leading alternative investment managers.

  • Drive efficient trade confirmation and settlement in secondary markets, ensuring legal, compliance, and operational readiness.

Settlement & Closing Ownership

  • Lead day-of-funding logistics, including wire tracking, fund flow coordination, and real-time counterparty engagement.

  • Accountability for accurate position reporting and security reference data in the firm’s risk systems. Track aging items and coordinate with deal teams and Operations on position resolution.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as the central point of coordination between front-office deal teams and functional groups, including Operations, Legal, Tax, Compliance, and Middle Office.
  • Translate commercial priorities into operational execution, ensuring trade and settlement readiness across internal and external stakeholders.

Documentation & Legal Coordination

  • Partner closely with Legal to manage timely negotiation and execution of documentation (e.g., assignment agreements, participation agreements, NDAs).
  • Interpret and communicate key legal provisions that may impact tradability, closing mechanics, or counterparty risk.

Platform Development & Process Optimization

  • Identify and implement enhancements to execution workflows that improve accuracy, efficiency, and scale.
  • Build and maintain front-end tracking tools to provide real-time visibility into transaction progress and execution risk.

Reporting & Governance

  • Assist with position reporting for internal and external counterparties.
  • Support internal reporting deliverables and ensure execution processes are aligned with regulatory, tax, and internal compliance frameworks.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience supporting leveraged finance, direct lending, or broadly syndicated loans is highly preferred. Experience managing international / offshore resources preferred.
  • Strong understanding of primary and secondary credit markets, settlement conventions, trade documentation, and regulatory considerations.
  • Familiarity with settlement platforms such as ClearPar, Debtdomain, or Markit Clear is preferred. Strong Excel and data management skills required.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
