JOB SUMMARY

The Lead Church Planting Catalyst is an active member of a Send Network church and serves under the direction of the Send Network Director for Texas. This leader handles catalyzing new Spanish-speaking church plants across Texas while also leading the complete Español planting ecosystem for Send Network SBTC-including assessment, training, coaching, and planter care. The Lead Church Planting Catalyst also plays a critical role in mobilizing established churches to take their next step on the Mobilization Pathway, helping them move toward becoming Supporting, Sending, Multiplying, or Movement Churches. This catalyst is committed to equipping church planters to perform the Missionary Task and to multiplying Gospel impact across Texas.

MINISTERIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Due to the ministerial nature and duties of this role a clear and compelling sense of God’s call to ministry leadership must be expressed and in evidence. Ephesians 4:1, 11-13; Acts 13:2; Ephesians 3:8.
  • The person filling this role must meet the biblical qualifications to serve in the Senior Pastor role as reflected in 1 Timothy 3:1-15 and Article 6 of the Baptist Faith & Message 2000

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Cultivate Relationships in Hispanic Contexts:
    • Know the church planting involvement level of Send Network SBTC churches (plant, supporting, sending, multiplying) and of any other churches expressing interest in planting.
    • Mobilize new churches to engage in church planting such as Supporting, Sending, and/or Multiplying Churches.
    • Partner with established Hispanic churches to build healthy leadership pipelines that find and raise up future planters from within their congregations.

  • Lead the Español Church Planting Systems
    • Oversee the Español Assessment process, ensuring candidates are thoroughly vetted and supported throughout the journey.
    • Implement and contextualize the Español Planter Training pathway, equipping planters through Send Network Training or equivalent.
    • Manage the Español Coaching system, ensuring each church planter receives consistent and strategic coaching during and after launch.
    • Provide and coordinate planter care for the emotional, relational, and spiritual health of Español.

  • Coach Churches Toward Multiplication   
    • Cast a compelling, contextualized vision for multiplying Spanish-speaking congregations and leaders.
    • Guide pastors in finding future planters and planting teams within their congregations.
    • Consult planters on long-term sustainability and multiplication, ensuring full engagement with the Send Network Planter Pathway.

  • Catalyze Movement
    • Catalyze a minimum of four new Spanish-speaking church plants per year across Texas.
    • Implement the Send Network Multiplication Pipeline (or its Español equivalent) in both new and existing Hispanic churches.
    • Shepherd existing Spanish-speaking Send Network churches into their next step toward multiplication on the Mobilization Pathway.                 

EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE

SPECIALIZED SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent; or four or more years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of the Southern Baptist Convention, Baptist doctrine, history, and polity, and the
    interrelationships of SBC agencies, state conventions, associations, and churches

OPTIONAL

  • Seminary Degree

  • Evidence of a mature and growing Christian Walk characterized, by Paul, in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
  • Personal wisdom and sufficiency are grounded in Christ and the word of God, with a life submitted to God’s authority in all things.
