This is a US-based, part-time, remote position. Preference for Utah residents.
About Us: Leadership Academy of Utah (LAU) is an online charter school serving students across the state of Utah. LAU offices are located in Clearfield, Utah. This position does not require you to live in proximity to the posted location; many of our team members enjoy working remotely from various locations in the U.S.
About the Position: This is a remote, part-time position. Position begins August 1, 2025 lasts through the end of the school year, May 22, 2026. Must be available in the afternoons based on Mountain Time. The math tutor works with 6th-12th grade students. This position performs the following job responsibilities:
Develop students’ skills and competence in the principles and application of math. Teach knowledge and skills in a variety of math concepts, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, and Precalculus. Provide individualized support to students. Correct student work and provide positive, constructive feedback.
Promote a positive learning environment. Create and maintain a safe environment that promotes learning in a remote small-group or individual setting. Actively encourage, motivate, and engage students during the tutoring session. Manage student behavior to create a positive environment that optimizes learning.
Organize and maintain daily notes for student support and achievement during tutoring. Report on student progress.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in math.
Demonstrated knowledge of a wide range of mathematic subject areas, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus
Proven work experience with educational staff, students, and their families
Proven integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment
Adept at multitasking and working with multiple students at the same time
Demonstrated organizational skills; able to gather, organize, and communicate student data clearly
Ability to respond effectively to the needs of diverse students and families
Flexible - comfortable adapting to new responsibilities as the role develops
Student-Centered - Genuinely invested in supporting student growth and well-being
Team-Oriented - Collaborates well with educators, families, and support staff
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Growth-Minded - Open to learning and evolving with the needs of the program
Computer experience with the ability to adapt and learn various platforms, including Canvas, Zoom, G-Suite, and other online supports
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others
Authorization to work in the United States and the ability to pass a background check
Compensation and Benefits
$20 - $25/hour, depending on experience, education, and math skills
20-25 hours per week (excluding holidays and summer)
