Position Summary
As a University Relations Lead at Samsung Austin Semiconductor you will be a strategic partner responsible for developing and nurturing relationships with leading universities, colleges, and technical institutions. This role is pivotal in building a strong talent pipeline by overseeing campus recruiting and new graduate recruiting initiatives, while managing touchpoints with other stakeholder organizations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our company maintains a vibrant, innovative, and engaged presence within the academic community, attracting top-tier talent aligned with our strategic business needs.Role and Responsibilities
Program Design and Program Management:
Design and implement a robust program that incorporates industry best practices.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to analyze program effectiveness to drive continuous improvement.
Leverage market research and competitive intelligence to inform and refine university recruiting strategies to remain competitive.
Provide regular status reports and strategic recommendations to Samsung leadership on campus engagement efforts.
Strategic Partnership Development:
Establish and maintain long-term relationships with university career centers, faculty, student organizations, and administrators.
Campus Recruiting and Engagement:
Design and execute innovative campus recruiting strategies, including career fairs, on-campus events, information sessions, and guest lectures.
Oversee the management and execution of internship, co-op, and entry-level programs, ensuring a seamless candidate experience from application to hire.
Employer Branding and Communications:
Champion the Samsung Brand on university campuses through compelling storytelling, targeted marketing, and relationship-building activities.
Develop communication strategies that effectively highlight our company’s values, culture, and career opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with Workforce Development, Talent Management, Community Affairs and Communications, to ensure that university recruiting activities are aligned with broader talent acquisition and organizational goals.
Skills and Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in university relations, campus recruiting, or a related talent acquisition function within a large, complex organization.
Proven track record of building and managing successful university recruiting programs, preferably in a Fortune 500 or similarly scaled company.
Understanding of current industry best practices and vision for what the future of the function could look like.
Skills & Competencies:
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with academic leaders, recruiters, and students.
Strong project management capabilities and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of campus recruiting best practices and talent market trends.
Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruiting software/tools.
Ability to travel regularly, including visits to university campuses across different regions.
