Bus Behavior Specialist
Job Description:
Supports Terminal Manager by assisting with the training process for bus drivers and Transportation Educational Assistants (TEAs). Reports to Training Manager. Responsible for training, mentoring, ride-a-long, and student management functions. Serves as a positive role model and the ability to coach and mentor. Develops and promotes good community relations among various district and community clientele.ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Mostly clean and comfortable, some noise and temperature extremes
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasional lifting over fifty (20) pounds
- Frequent bending, standing, sitting and reaching
- Occasional squatting, walking, climbing, kneeling, stooping
Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Responsibilities:
Observe and evaluate student management skills while riding with drivers and TEAs.
Provide direction to improve both driving skills and student management skills.
Provide support and feedback to the employees.
Document and investigate concerns initiated by parents, school administrators, private individuals and/or students; related to all school buses and at all bus stops.
Review videos as they relate to complaints or concerns and as directed by management.
Ride each route as requested to help mitigate bus behavior issues.
Must be flexible to support every bus terminal location and school.
Help train and coach bus drivers as it pertains to student bus management.
Work with students, bus drivers, schools, parents, and leadership as needed to improve the bus ride experience.
Engage with leadership to support the bus drivers for student write ups and/or suspension.
Work directly with parents as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Drive a school bus or perform TEA duties as needed.
Certifications:
CPI - as applicable
Education:
High School or Equivalent (Required)
Skills:

$24.84 USD - $42.54 USD Hourly- All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
