Job Summary: These are National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Positions. These positions are Indefinite Reimbursable WG-2892-10 AIRCRAFT ELECTRICIAN (TITLE 32), Position Description Number d2850000 and are part of the MO TASMG Shop. These are bargaining positions. SEE NOTES UNDER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT BELOW.

Major Duties:

  • Repair and overhaul of complex power, control, and warning systems.
  • The primary purpose of this position is to perform maintenance, to analyze malfunctions, troubleshoot, repair, install, maintain, test, inspect, and modify the electrical systems on Army National Guard helicopters.
  • Service both lead- acid and nickel-cadmium type batteries.
  • Maintains records of bench stock, material, parts, and equipment.
  • Selects, operates, maintains, and repairs specialized electrical measuring and shop equipment.
  • Calibrates and adjusts amplifiers, control boxes, and other equipment to vary voltage, resistance, frequency, load and other variables to analyze constructional and operating characteristics of electrical shop equipment and testers.
  • Solves unusual maintenance problems by studying layout drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Utilizes all applicable technical references, guides, work instructions, and publications regarding aircraft electrical systems and shop equipment.
  • Guides lower-level mechanics in performance of tasks.
  • Processes and accounts for due-in supply assets.
  • Ensures that material and equipment are properly stored, protected and maintained and that funds are not obligated for material or parts without proper justification.
  • Performs authorized major modifications within assigned functional area as directed by higher technician authority.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri Army National Guard. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion). Maximum Military Grade - WO1 (W-1) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education or training which has provided a knowledge and skill in locating and tying in the electrical systems with the aircraft armament, electronics and instrument systems; adjusting and calibrating the components of the various electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics. WG-10 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess specialized experience or training that demonstrates the ability to install, maintain, repair and modify electrical systems and major substation components of electrical systems; diagnose malfunctions and determining remedy when complex relationships exist among different electrical system circuits requiring knowledge of all electrical units and system; and make electrical repairs that require the use of precision measuring equipment and common hand tools. This specialized experience must also include experience in the setup and operation of computerized multiple circuit analyzing equipment in manual, semiautomatic, or automatic mode to run existing and new (not fully debugged) diagnostic programs to test and analyze aircraft electrical circuitry and interconnecting cabling of systems such as navigational computers, radar, and related equipment and to repair discrepancies.
