Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC, Position Description Number D0097000 and is part of the KS 190 Air Refueling Wing, National Guard.
Major Duties:
- As an AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC WG-8268-10, you will be utilizing electrical wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics and technical publications, determines extent and type of preventative and/or repair maintenance required. Performs organizational and intermediate maintenance in confined spaces on aircraft fuel systems, components, and equipment to include fuel cells, integral tanks, tank sealant repair, regulators, pumps, relief valves and fuel accessories. Also performs required maintenance activities associated with time compliance technical orders (TCTO) involving aircraft fuel systems, inflight refueling systems and related components. Connects power sources, and using cockpit controls, gauges and additional precision instruments, performs operational and functional checks of inflight refueling, single point refueling and fuel transfer systems and related valves, pumps, switches, selectors, and control devices. Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements.
Qualifications: Military Grades: E-3 through E-6 Compatible Military Assignments: 2A6x4 * Must be willing and able to cross train into the compatible AFSC GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates your knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles; knowledge of troubleshooting procedures used to isolate malfunctions in aircraft pneudraulic systems; and ability to use technical manuals, equipment specifications, and test calibration procedures in performing the work. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training which provided a knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical principles. Experience in fabricating fuel, oil and vacuum hose lines. Experience in servicing, maintaining, disassembling assembling, repairing and testing hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and overhauling pneudraulic accessories by disassembling, cleaning part and examining parts. Experience in diagnosing trouble and determining remedies. Experience in repairing, rebuilding and overhauling major systems of ground equipment and pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Experience in mechanical repairs using hand tools and test equipment. Experience that demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications and publications.
