Brief Overview of Position
The Information Risk function is the Bank's 2LOD (second line of defense) responsible for independently assessing and monitoring information risks across the organization. The Information Risk Data Analytics role supports the initiatives of the Information Risk Team. The role is critical in translating complex data findings into clear, concise reports that inform senior management and committees, enabling them to make well-informed decisions regarding the overall risk posture and strategy of the Bank. Key activities include reviewing, validating, and/or independently conducting risk assessments, analyzing the potential impact of identified risks, providing recommendations to mitigate risks, and preparing detailed reports to key stakeholders and decision-making committees (senior, executive and board). Additionally, this role contributes to other Information Risk functions by assisting with issue management validation, vulnerability assessment, and new business initiative risk management.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing data from various sources, such as enterprise and technical management systems, security scanning tools, and identity management solutions, to identify and track risk trends.
- Aggregating and synthesizing this data to generate detailed reports for key stakeholders and decision-making committees.
- Providing actionable insights and recommendations for risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensuring all risk management documentation and reports submitted to both internal and external auditors and regulators, are complete and accurate.
- Collaborating with business control offices and risk reporting functions to ensure timely and aligned information risk management reporting.
- Analyze findings and provide detailed reports with actionable recommendations for improving security posture
- Assist in developing security policies and procedures based on test results to enhance overall security frameworks
- Develop clear and concise risk reports highlighting key findings, including potential impacts and mitigation strategies.
- Visualize complex data using charts, graphs, and dashboards to effectively communicate risk levels.
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Analytics, Computer Science); or equivalent combination of education, training, experience
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in financial services or a related field
- Strong knowledge of a programming at least one language, including but not limited to Ruby, Python, Powershell, or BASH.
- Strong documentation capabilities.
- Ability to communicate results to both technical and business audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, focused on results with critical thinking, research and problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to implement and communicate actionable insights to streamline processes/transactions.
- Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative.
- Ability to manage competing priorities on concurrent large, complex projects, initiatives, and deliverables.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
