NC Tooth Docs is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our dynamic team within the health, wellness, and fitness industry. As a vital link between our patients and dental care providers, the Patient Care Coordinator will play an essential role in ensuring a seamless and positive patient experience from the initial contact through treatment completion. This position requires a professional who is not only highly organized and detail-oriented but also has excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, understand their needs, and guide them through their dental care journey. This role involves managing appointments, handling patient inquiries, coordinating insurance claims, and maintaining accurate patient records. Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression of NC Tooth Docs.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, managing the calendar efficiently to optimize dental providers’ time.
- Assist patients with completing necessary paperwork and dental insurance forms accurately and timely.
- Respond to patient inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, providing clear and compassionate communication.
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely delivery of treatments.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and assist with claims processing and billing inquiries.
- Maintain and update patient records and databases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support patient follow-up procedures, including appointment reminders and treatment plan communications.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
- Previous experience in a patient coordinator or customer service role within a healthcare, dental, or wellness setting.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact empathetically and professionally.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing schedules and billing processes.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software (Microsoft Office, email).
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, insurance processes, and HIPAA compliance standards is highly desirable.
