Job Summary: OSA Kitchen Bar is seeking an experienced and passionate Sushi Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of traditional sushi-making techniques, a keen eye for detail, and a creative flair for presenting sushi dishes in an aesthetically pleasing manner. The Sushi Chef will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes, ensuring an outstanding dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes according to OSA Kitchen Bar’s standards.
  • Ensure all food items are prepared in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining the highest quality and freshness.
  • Manage and oversee the sushi bar operations, including inventory management, ordering, and receiving of ingredients.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and culinary team to develop new menu items and specials.
  • Interact with guests, providing exceptional customer service and answering any questions regarding the menu.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sushi Chef in a high-end restaurant or similar setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of sushi-making techniques, including rice preparation, fish cutting, and rolling.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Creative and artistic presentation skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent knife skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and quality.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal culinary training or certification in Japanese cuisine.
  • Experience in menu development and innovation.
  • Knowledge of traditional and modern Japanese ingredients and techniques.
