Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Old Monroe is seeking a Long-Term PE Teacher to provide physical education instruction to students while supporting their physical, social, and emotional development within a Catholic school environment. The teacher will ensure continuity of learning during the absence of the regular PE teacher by delivering engaging, safe, and age-appropriate lessons that promote fitness, teamwork, and positive student growth.
Teach scheduled PE classes for the assigned grade levels following the established curriculum.
Develop and lead age-appropriate physical activities, games, and fitness exercises.
Maintain a structured, safe, and respectful environment for all students.
Adapt lessons as needed to meet student abilities and safety guidelines.
Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive behavior.
Supervise students during class activities, transitions, and outdoor play.
Monitor student participation and provide guidance to promote skill development.
Communicate with school leadership and teachers regarding student needs, schedules, and class updates.
Collaborate with staff to coordinate gym use, equipment needs, and school events.
Maintain a supportive and professional presence within the school community.
Set up and organize equipment for daily lessons.
Ensure proper care and storage of PE materials.
Support additional school activities, field days, or assemblies as needed.
Experience teaching or working with children in an educational or coaching setting.
Ability to lead physical activities and manage large groups of students safely.
Strong communication skills and a positive, energetic attitude.
Reliability and professionalism in supporting the school’s mission and schedule.
