About the Role
As a Scrum Master (with a Product Management mindset), you enable structured delivery for co-innovation initiatives in a regulated banking context. You create the methodological backbone that allows the Product Owner to make strong product decisions on reliable inputs: transparent progress, disciplined scope management, and consistently prepared options. Your focus is not “Scrum ceremony management”, but shaping a working system that turns stakeholder complexity into predictable outcomes.
The role sits with okadis Consulting, a part of SAP Fioneer. okadis runs the selection and onboarding process. You will work alongside the Product Owner with a focus on method, alignment and delivery flow, supporting cross-functional teams spanning UX, solution architecture, backend development and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
You establish and continuously improve the agile operating model for co-innovation workstreams. You make work visible, outcomes measurable, and dependencies manageable - so that delivery does not rely on heroics, but on a stable cadence and clear decision points. You ensure the team uses agile practices as instruments for flow and learning, not as rituals. Where Scrum is not sufficient, you introduce lightweight complementary methods without over-engineering the process.
You drive structured requirement discovery together with the Product Owner and domain stakeholders, ensuring that needs, constraints and assumptions are captured in a way the team can actually implement. You facilitate the translation from problem statements into user-centered increments, with a strong sense for end-to-end processes typical for a German development bank environment (loans, programs, public sector constraints). You ensure the right level of “definition” exists before work starts, while protecting the team from premature commitments.
You design and moderate collaboration formats that align business, IT, UX and architecture effectively. You structure stakeholder involvement so feedback is collected systematically, consolidated, and turned into actionable guidance - without creating decision chaos. You actively manage transparency: what is decided, what is open, what depends on what, and what the impact is. The Product Owner remains accountable for product decisions; you ensure those decisions are prepared on solid ground.
You embed quality into the delivery flow by enabling effective refinement, clear acceptance logic, and pragmatic validation of outcomes. You help the team anticipate risks early - technical, organizational and regulatory - and ensure constraints (e.g., auditability, data protection, compliance expectations) are consistently considered as part of delivery, not as late-stage surprises.
You have 5 years of experience as Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Delivery Lead or in a comparable role where you actively shaped cross-functional delivery, not just facilitated meetings. You are method-strong and able to switch between facilitation, structuring, and pragmatic execution support depending on what the situation requires.
You are comfortable working close to product: you enable prioritization and decision-making through clean preparation, transparency and structured collaboration, while the Product Owner retains final responsibility. You understand how to handle stakeholder density and conflicting interests with calm authority and a bias for clarity.
You can communicate fluently in German and English and are able to translate between business language and delivery reality. Experience in banking, public sector, development banking or other regulated environments is valuable because it sharpens your instinct for documentation needs, traceability and compliance constraints in day-to-day delivery.
