About the Position

A private family based in Chêne-Bougeries, Geneva, is looking for a reliable, experienced and discreet Full-Time Housekeeper to take responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep and smooth running of their home.

This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in maintaining a home to a high standard, is well organised and enjoys creating a clean, tidy and welcoming environment.

The ideal candidate will be fluent in French and English, although strong proficiency in one language combined with a good understanding of the other may also be considered.

Main Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for the general cleaning and upkeep of the home
• Dusting, vacuuming, mopping and maintaining all living areas to a high standard
• Laundry, including washing, drying, folding and carefully organising clothes and household linens
• Professional ironing and care of garments
• Keeping wardrobes, cupboards and household areas neat and well organised
• Ensuring the home is consistently tidy and presentable
• Changing bed linen and maintaining bedrooms and bathrooms
• Monitoring household supplies and informing the family when items need to be replenished
• Helping with shopping or other household errands when required
• Assisting with practical day-to-day tasks that contribute to the smooth running of the household
• Being attentive to the family's needs and taking initiative without always needing to be instructed
• Maintaining a discreet, respectful and professional presence within the home

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate

The family is looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in private-household housekeeping
• Checkable references
• Legally authorised to work in Switzerland : EU passport or valid Swiss work permit
• Meticulous, organised and detail-oriented
• Proactive and able to work independently
• Flexible and willing to assist with different household-related tasks
• Comfortable working in a private family environment
• Well presented and professional
• Fluent in French and English, ideally
