JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution.
- Contribute to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.
- Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
- Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
- Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
- Locate and packs materials for shipping.
- Document materials and records units delivered and location of units.
- Prepare finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
- Document product shipment by recording units shipped.
- Operate pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signals machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks, ships, and loading docks.
- Keep inventory, loading areas, and machinery clean.
- Open containers, sort, and catalog materials.
- Learn and adhere to workplace safety regulations.
- Train and mentor employees to become more proficient and productive in all aspects of Material Handler responsibilities.
- Participate in process improvement activities and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-2 years of experience working as a material handler.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Adept at handling multiple tasks of moderate complexity simultaneously.
- Proficient with prioritizing tasks and meeting multiple deadlines.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Process improvement mindset.
- Knowledge of inventory control.
- Ability to lift heavy materials.
- Data entry skills and the ability to read and analyze information.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Previous stock or inventory experience.
- Previous experience operating a forklift or pallet jack.
