Academic Services is focused on supporting SAIT’s schools and departments in their pursuit of SAIT’s strategic priorities. Academic Services brings together several academic development, delivery, and quality assurance units with a common goal: student success. Academic Services provides unique, flexible support programming designed to help learners succeed in their chosen SAIT career program.

We are currently hiring an instructor to teach PSYC 1010 (Intro to Psychology). Reporting to the Academic Chair, Communication and Liberal Arts Studies, you have a passion for teaching diverse students, thrive in sharing knowledge and enjoy coaching students to succeed and think critically. You will be responsible for teaching the course through an experiential (task-based) learning lens.

How you'll contribute

  • Instruct PSYC 1010 courses
  • Prepare in-class and study materials for learners
  • Evaluate student progress and achievement providing timely, formative feedback
  • Provide ongoing support, guidance and advice to learners
  • Stay abreast of emerging pedagogical issues and educational technologies
  • Attend department meetings and SAIT’s instructor training program
  • Expertise in the field of psychology
  • Background in adult education
  • Ability to collaborate with Academic Chairs and faculty across SAIT
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues on the Communication and Liberal Arts Studies team
  • Expertise in a variety of teaching modalities including face-to-face, online, blended
  • What you bring

  • Master’s degree or higher in Psychology (or a related field)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ post-secondary teaching experience
  • Graduate education and/or work experience in adult education would be an asset
  • Good computer skills and experience teaching technology-enhanced courses are required
