We’re seeking an Assistant Apartment Property Manager to support the daily operations of one of our communities. This role partners closely with the Property Manager to ensure operational excellence, financial accuracy, strong leasing performance, and an exceptional resident experience. What You’ll Do

  • Support daily property operations, including leasing, resident services, maintenance coordination, and administrative functions.
  • Assist in supervising on-site staff, including training support, scheduling coordination, and reinforcing company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Fair Housing and OSHA requirements.
  • Conduct routine property inspections and coordinate with maintenance to maintain a safe, clean, and move-in-ready environment.
  • Assist with budget tracking, accounts payable and receivable, rent collection, and variance reporting.
  • Prepare and submit required company reports, including month-end documentation.
  • Support leasing efforts: conduct tours, process applications, coordinate screenings, manage deposits, prepare lease agreements, and oversee move-ins.
  • Build positive resident relationships, professionally address concerns, and support retention initiatives.
  • Assist in executing marketing strategies and digital campaigns to maximize occupancy.
  • Exercise sound judgment in resolving resident, vendor, and operational matters.
  • Represent CommonPlace with professionalism, warmth, and accountability.
  • Travel to court and represent company in eviction related legal matters if needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–4 years of property management or related housing experience.
  • Working knowledge of Fair Housing laws (certification required upon hire).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Financial aptitude, including experience with rent collection and reporting.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with residents, vendors, and team members.
  • Ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods and walk the property regularly.
  • OneSite or AppFolio experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance for picking up supplies and attending court appearances for evictions.

This role requires a combination of office and on-site property responsibilities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to:

  • Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
  • Walk the property regularly, including stairs and uneven surfaces
  • Use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, phone, and standard office equipment
  • Communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via electronic communication
  • Occasionally lift or move items up to approximately 20 pounds (such as office supplies or small packages)
  • Bend, stoop, reach, and climb stairs as needed

The work environment includes both indoor office settings and outdoor property areas in varying weather conditions. The noise level is typically moderate but may vary during resident events, maintenance activities, or peak leasing periods.

Compensation: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour plus generous incentives.
