Lead Technology Strategy That Powers Recovery and Operational Excellence

At State of the Heart Recovery, the Director of Information Technology oversees the strategic and operational direction of the IT department to ensure technology systems align with organizational goals and mission-critical services. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all IT operations, including cybersecurity, system integration, infrastructure management, and application portfolio oversight across departments.

The Director of IT partners closely with executive leadership and department heads to design, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions that enhance clinical operations, administrative efficiency, data security, and regulatory compliance within a behavioral-health environment.

What You Will Do

• Formulate and deploy long-term strategic plans for acquiring and enabling efficient and cost-effective information technologies and processes.
• Lead IT operational planning, including business requirements gathering, project planning, resource allocation, and execution.
• Oversee deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and support of all hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
• Evaluate and recommend system upgrades, hardware investments, and emerging technologies.
• Develop and implement IT policies and procedures for architecture, cybersecurity, confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and disaster recovery.
• Administer IT budgets, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and provide business case justifications for technology initiatives.
• Supervise technology, IT, cybersecurity, and data teams, including performance management and staff development.
• Establish and monitor service level agreements and performance benchmarks.
• Oversee help desk and end-user technical support services.
• Negotiate and manage vendor, consultant, and service agreements within the scope of IT operations.
• Collaborate with executives and department leaders to identify technology solutions that support business and clinical objectives.
• Benchmark and analyze IT infrastructure performance and recommend continuous improvement strategies.
• Maintain confidentiality, data integrity, and compliance with federal, state, and industry technology regulations.
• Communicate IT priorities, milestones, and initiatives to executive leadership and internal stakeholders.
• Participate in strategic planning to ensure alignment between IT initiatives and organizational growth.

Requirements

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
• Three or more years of supervisory experience required.
• Proven experience managing cross-organizational IT projects, including systems selection, integration, interoperability, and deployment.
• Strong knowledge of IT operations, cybersecurity, system architecture, and database management.
• Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, addiction recovery, or HIPAA-regulated environments preferred.
• Experience with Behavioral Health Information Systems preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage executives, department heads, and technical staff.
• Commitment to confidentiality, compliance, and ethical technology governance.
