Organization Overview

Founded in 2004, Brilliant Corners provides innovative housing and housing-related services to California’s most vulnerable individuals, with an emphasis on those transitioning from, or at risk of, homelessness or institutionalization. We develop, own, and manage multi-family supportive housing and licensed residential care homes. We implement a broad array of scattered-site, one-on-one supportive housing, and clinical case management programs through partnerships with developmental services, homeless services, veterans’ services, and health care sectors.

Position Summary

The Data Analyst is responsible for working with cross-functional teams to gather reporting requirements, analyze program and operational data, develop and maintain reports and dashboards, and build and maintain organizational data models using multiple data sources for internal and external use. The Data Analyst is the subject matter expert in the organization’s data needs. They will support decision-making and recommendations using data visualizations, metrics, and education to drive the organization towards data-driven decisions that leverage self-service data models. In addition, the Data Analyst is responsible for creating and maintaining reference materials to promote business logic transparency and to help identify gaps in data collection, data quality, and data integrity.

Position Responsibilities

  • Perform data analysis using multiple data sources.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain reports and dashboard visualizations.
  • Create mapping and documentation for data sets, reports, and dashboards for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Create best-practice documentation on data mining, analysis, and visualizations to support user training, onboarding, and adoption.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs, gather requirements, build performance indicators, and identify trends and opportunities.
  • Support identification, maintenance, and improvement of ETL/ELT processes.
  • Participate in projects across the unit, department, and organization by providing data support, including integration, migrations, and analysis.
  • Coordinate and communicate closely with stakeholders to ensure education and adoption of new reports and dashboards.
  • Support in performing program impact and gap analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Professional Experience·       

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, FinTech, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Salesforce Reporting and Dashboards.
  • Proven analytic and critical thinking skills, including evaluation, analysis, and visualization of data from multiple systems of record.
  • Strong Excel experience, including pivot tables, complex functions, PowerQuery, lookup functions, with ability to quickly learn other analytic tools.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence role.
  • Strong experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Sigma).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable presenting to senior leaders.
  • Experience in a non-profit, human services setting is a big plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience using PowerBI, Tableau, or Sigma.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL.
  • Technical experience building data models and documenting database design and architecture to assist in identifying gaps to develop new data pipelines.
  • Clear technical writing experience, including queries, reports, and presentations.
  • Experience working with geographic information system (ArcGIS).
  • Team player with positive attitude.
  • Strong listener, empathic and curious

Physical Requirements

Candidates should have physical mobility for tasks such as standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and walking on uneven surfaces. They should be capable of performing stationary tasks like sitting for up to 6 to 8 hours a day.  Additionally, candidates should be able to lift, carry, push, pull light to moderate weights up to 15 pounds safely. Requires mental acuity for analytical reasoning and document interpretation.

 

Salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000 annually. This position is being offered at $75,000 to $85,000 annually.
