Job Summary:
Lead and oversee all inventory control operations to ensure accurate stock levels, efficient material flow, and strong alignment between Purchasing, Warehouse Operations, Production, and Accounting. This role is responsible for developing inventory strategies, managing processes and KPIs, and ensuring operational excellence across the organization.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Inventory Accuracy & Control
· Own the company’s inventory accuracy program, including cycle counts, root-cause analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
· Develop and enforce inventory control procedures, including FIFO/FEFO, stocking standards, and audit requirements.
· Identify trends in shrink, variances, or unusual inventory activity and implement corrective and preventive actions.
· Ensure all ERP/WMS data is accurate, timely, and compliant with operational and financial standards.
Receiving, Put-Away, and Warehouse Flow
· Oversee the receiving workflow to ensure shipments are verified, documented, and stocked correctly.
· Partner with Warehouse leadership to optimize location management, space utilization, and storage configurations.
· Maintain structured put-away and replenishment processes to support efficient material flow and reduce handling time.
Production & Fulfillment Support
· Ensure all materials are available to meet production, staging, kitting, and outbound shipping schedules.
· Forecast inventory needs based on demand, operational schedules, and upcoming projects.
· Troubleshoot shortages, delays, or quality issues and provide solutions that minimize production downtime.
Inventory Data, Reporting & KPI’s
· Own inventory reporting cadence, including stock status, aging, slow-moving inventory, and KPI dashboards.
· Analyze data to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvement, and operational efficiency.
· Present findings and recommendations to leadership on inventory performance, risks, and strategic adjustments.
Optimization, Process Improvement & Compliance
· Continuously evaluate and improve inventory processes, documentation, and SOPs.
· Reduce excess stock, drive inventory turns, and support demand-planning improvements.
· Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory requirements, financial audit standards, and internal controls.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Serve as the primary point of contact between Warehouse, Purchasing, Production, and Accounting for all inventory-related matters.
· Partner with Purchasing on vendor performance, shortages, returns, and cost-saving opportunities.
· Train and support warehouse team members on inventory control procedures and system usage.
· Communicate inventory risks, shortages, and operational impacts to management in a timely manner.

Requirements
Key Skills & Competencies
· Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
· In-depth knowledge of inventory control methodologies (ABC, cycle counting, forecasting).
· Experience with ERP/WMS systems (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, etc.).
· Analytical ability to interpret complex inventory data.
· Excellent communication and cross-department collaboration skills.
· Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Thorough understanding of warehouse operations, safety, and compliance standards.
Education:
· Required: High school diploma or GED.
· Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience:
· 3–5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain roles.
· 1–3 years of supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
· Strong experience working in an ERP or WMS environment (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
· Proven success in reducing inventory variances, improving accuracy, or optimizing inventory flow.
· Experience supporting or collaborating with Purchasing, Production, and Accounting teams.
