Schumacher & Co. family, Patterson Flynn represents the pinnacle of custom floorcovering craftsmanship, combining traditional techniques with contemporary design sensibilities. Patterson Flynn currently maintains 14 showrooms across the United States, each showcasing our commitment to exceptional quality and personalized design solutions. Our team works closely with interior designers and discerning clients to create custom pieces that reflect individual style while maintaining the highest standards of luxury and craftsmanship.  

Role Overview 

 

Patterson Flynn is seeking a Managing Director to lead its Tri-State region business. This role is the senior commercial and cultural leader for the region, responsible for driving growth, profitability, and brand leadership in one of the most influential design markets in the world. 

 

The Managing Director will own regional strategy and execution across showroom leadership, outside sales, key account development, and cross-functional collaboration with merchandising, marketing, operations, and the Managing Directors of other regions, including their Schumacher counterpart in Tri-State. This role requires a sophisticated understanding of the luxury interior design ecosystem, a strong point of view, and the ability to inspire high-performing teams. 

 

You Will 

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing sales team in the showroom 
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and results, grounded in Patterson Flynn and FSCO’s core values. 
  • Coach and mentor senior talent, creating clear expectations, growth paths, and performance standards. 
  • Create and execute business development strategies for the entire region 
  • Manage the budget for the region 
  • Analyze KPIs and key metrics to predict achievements and improvements of individual team members and the region 
  • Identify new revenue streams and maximize the potential of current streams 
  • Utilize and expand Patterson Flynn’s presence through online and digital channels (social media, etc.) 
  • Oversee and perform daily showroom tasks including but not limited to fulfilling memo requests, redesigning wings, updating product, managing inventory, and maintaining the overall visual merchandising aesthetic. 
  • Cultivate relationships that convert to sales within the design communities of the region 
  • Uphold FSCO values and maintain an innovative, collaborative, results driven culture within the region 

You Have 

  • Proven ability to establish, orchestrate, and execute account strategies in the interior design market 
  • Managed multiple employees with the expertise to coach, teach, train, and motivate people towards a common goal 
  • Proficiency in tracking the sales metrics of a team, creating marketing strategies to achieve goals, and assessing individual sales performance. 
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and are competitively driven with the strategy to expand a client base and grow existing accounts 
  • Problem solving capabilities that allow for leadership in an innovative and rapidly changing environment 
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm about the luxury interior design industry
