RMC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Windows System Administrator to join our integrated team in Indian Head, MD. You will collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, service desk analysts, and other IT professionals to maintain and optimize a robust infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is a resourceful self-starter who is proactive, customer-oriented, and solution-driven.
Key Responsibilities
- Active Directory & Group Policy Management: Design, implement, and maintain Active Directory (AD) services, including complex Group Policy Objects (GPO). Ensure security and compliance by applying and managing DNS STIGs.
- System & Application Management: Manage and secure Windows Server environments, including the configuration and maintenance of Internet Information Services (IIS). Deploy patches, applications, and operating system updates using SCCM.
- Expert in managing enterprise-wide software updates and patch compliance using SCCM, including creating and deploying update packages, managing deployment rings, and reporting on security compliance to mitigate vulnerabilities effectively.
- Skilled in the design, administration, and maintenance of the SCCM hierarchy, utilizing it to automate endpoint management, streamline software delivery, and maintain an accurate inventory of hardware and software assets.
- Infrastructure Projects: Lead and execute complex infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on Active Directory (AD) migrations and consolidations.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop, test, and maintain robust PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks, streamline processes, and generate reports.
- Troubleshooting: Act as a senior escalation point for complex system issues; apply solid and methodical troubleshooting skills to resolve problems related to servers, services, and network connectivity.
- Proficient in image management tasks such as building, updating, deploying and working with the Service Desk to resolve issues
- Virtualization: Administer and optimize the server virtualization environment (VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V).
- Security & Compliance: Proactively monitor systems, manage security configurations, and ensure adherence to internal security policies and standards.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Oversee and validate backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Proven experience applying and managing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for Active Directory.
Requirements
- Active Interim DoD Secret clearance required to start; Top Secret clearance required for continued employment.
- DoD 8570.01M IAT Level III certification (CompTIA Security X CE, CISSP, or equivalent).
- 5-7+ years of experience in a senior Windows administration role.
- Windows Server: Expert-level knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022).
- Active Directory: Extensive experience with Active Directory architecture, DNS, and security, including the application of STIGs. Proven experience executing AD migrations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Linux Knowledge: Basic administration skills in Linux environments (RHEL, Ubuntu) is beneficial but not required.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $110,000 to $175,000 (annually).
