We are looking for an Associate Director of Inventory Management, Apparel who will own inventory strategy, forecasting standards, and performance for the Apparel category. This role operates as the category authority for apparel inventory across e-commerce channels, with responsibility for driving inventory health, forecasting rigor, and technology enablement.
This role works very closely with Brand Management and Marketplace Operations teams to ensure inventory decisions support assortment strategy, channel execution, and customer experience. While this role may not initially have direct reports, it requires strong dotted-line leadership and influence across Inventory Managers, Planning, Brand Management, and Supply Chain / Operations partners in both the US and UK. The role also partners with Product and Technology teams to shape apparel-specific analytical tools and inventory capabilities. Success is measured through category-level KPIs including inventory turns, instock rates, weeks of supply, forecast accuracy, and sustained inventory profitability.
This is a full-time role and will work a hybrid schedule in Lehi, Utah.
What is a day in the life of an Associate Director of Inventory Management - Apparel
Own and define inventory planning and forecasting strategy for the Apparel category across regions
Set category-level inventory targets, planning frameworks, and decision guardrails
Act as the primary escalation and decision authority for complex apparel inventory challenges
Influence Inventory Managers and planners through dotted-line leadership across the US and UK
Lead category-level inventory reviews focused on risk, opportunity, and performance
Partner closely with Brand Management to align inventory strategy with assortment, launch timing, and brand priorities
Collaborate with Marketplace Operations to ensure inventory plans support channel execution, instock performance, and operational constraints
Drive standardization of apparel-specific inventory planning practices, including lifecycle, seasonality, and replenishment models
Influence Product and Technology teams to develop apparel-focused analytics, forecasting tools, and inventory technology solutions
Translate inventory, marketplace, and brand needs into clear requirements for data, systems, and automation initiatives
Champion continuous improvement initiatives across planning processes and tooling
What will I need to thrive in this role?
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, analytics, or a related field
8–12 years of experience in inventory management, demand planning, or supply chain planning within apparel or softlines retail
Strong understanding of apparel-specific inventory dynamics, including seasonality, size curves, lifecycle planning, and markdown risk
Deep expertise in forecasting, inventory math, and retail inventory KPIs
Experience partnering cross-functionally with Brand Management and Marketplace Operations teams
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority
Experience working with Product or Technology teams on analytics or planning tools
Strong communication skills and executive presence across global teams
Ability to balance strategic ownership with hands-on problem-solving

What is the team like?
The inventory organization is analytical, collaborative, and performance-driven. Apparel inventory requires tight alignment across Inventory Management, Brand Management, Marketplace Operations, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Product, and Technology. As Associate Director, you will act as a category leader and connector across these teams, influencing outcomes through expertise, judgment, and strategic leadership. You will report into global inventory leadership and support teams across the US and UK.
