Facilities Technician - Manufacturing bei Wow Bao

Wow Bao is seeking a skilled Facilities Technician to ensure the efficient operation of our facility. The ideal candidate will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems, respond to urgent repair requests, assist with event setup, uphold safety standards, and maintain thorough documentation of all maintenance activities.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facilities Technician is responsible for the reliable operation and upkeep of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. This role ensures a safe, functional, and efficient environment through routine maintenance, emergency repairs, inspections, and collaboration with vendors and internal teams.

This position is on-site in Forest City, North Carolina.

Requirements

·       Conduct scheduled inspections and routine maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, ammonia refrigeration and mechanical systems.

·       Troubleshoot and repair issues such as leaks, clogged drains, lighting failures, and HVAC malfunctions.

·       Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent facility issues to minimize downtime.

·       Perform minor carpentry, painting, furniture assembly, event setup/teardown, and grounds maintenance as needed.

·       Ensure compliance with safety rules, building codes, and regulatory requirements (fire, safety, environmental).

·       Adhere to food safety standards (e.g. FDA, SQF, USDA, HACCP), Wow Bao’s internal policies and OSHA regulations during all maintenance activities.

·       Coordinate and oversee external contractors for specialized repairs or projects.

·       Maintain accurate records of work orders, repairs, inspections, and inventory.

·       Monitor and maintain inventory levels of tools and maintenance supplies.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:                                                                                                                

·       Typically 2+ years in facilities maintenance, building systems, or mechanical trades.

·       High school diploma or equivalent.

·       Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, CPR/AED, BAS).

·       Technical skills: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, preventative maintenance.

·       Problem-solving: Diagnose and fix system failures efficiently.

·       Safety awareness: Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulatory compliance.

·       Communication: Effective interaction with staff, vendors, and internal teams; good documentation skills.

·       Organizational skills: Manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, handle inventory.

·       Occasional evening, weekend, or on-call availability.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

·       Occasional overtime, including weekends, may be required based on production schedules.

·       The role requires being on-site and actively involved in plant operations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

·       Physical ability: Capable of lifting (up to ~50 lbs), climbing ladders, and performing manual labor.

·       Indoor and outdoor work environments; may involve confined spaces or elevated areas.

·       Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs at a time

·       Ability to work in cold environments for a long period of time
