Job Summary

The General Warehouse Technician plays an essential role in the day-to-day preparation, movement, organization, and basic quality control of all equipment that flows through the Brite Ideas warehouse. This entry-level position supports all warehouse workflows, including pulling and returning gear, loading and unloading trucks, cleaning and inspecting equipment, maintaining warehouse organization, staging projects, and assisting with local pickups and occasional onsite load-in/ load-out support.

This role provides foundational warehouse experience for individuals interested in growing within Brite Ideas. The Technician works under the direction of the Warehouse Manager and collaborates with all specialty departments (Audio, Video, Lighting, Rigging) to ensure gear is prepared, transported, and returned through proper systems, safety protocols, and quality standards.

Essential Functions

General Warehouse Operations

  • Pull, prepare, and stage equipment for events per project pull sheets and Warehouse Manager or Lead direction.
  • Return gear through Flex or other system, ensuring accurate counts, scanning, and accountability.
  • Load and unload trucks for events and warehouse movements.
  • Organize, restock, and maintain cleanliness throughout the warehouse, storage areas, and workstations.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, palletizing, case labeling, and general material handling.
  • Move equipment safely throughout the warehouse using carts, pallet jacks, and other non-DOT equipment.
  • Prevent loss, damage, or misplacement of equipment through proper handling and documentation.

Basic Quality Control & Equipment Handling

  • Perform basic cleaning, visual inspection, and functional power-on checks for gear returning from events, or other SOP as directed by department specialists.
  • Identify damage, missing items, or operational concerns and escalate to the Warehouse Manager or appropriate Specialist.
  • Coil, label, sort, and organize cables across all departments (audio, video, lighting, rigging).
  • Assist in maintaining case labels, asset tags, and shop organization standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with Brite Ideas’ safety protocols.

Systems, Tracking & Documentation

  • Use Flex Rental Solutions (or similar system) for scanning equipment in/out; training provided.
  • Maintain accuracy with all scanning, counts, and movement of gear through the warehouse.
  • Notify supervisors of equipment issues, missing inventory, or safety concerns.

Local Pickups & Logistics Support

  • Assist with occasional local pickups, drop-offs, or vendor returns using a Class C vehicle (no DOT or CDL requirements).
  • Support Drivers and Logistics with staging outbound gear and receiving inbound equipment.

Cross-Departmental Warehouse Support

  • Assist Audio, Video, Lighting, and Rigging departments with simple, non-technical duties during peak workflows.
  • Support project staging, case organization, cable runs (shop only), and general labor tasks as directed.

Onsite Support (Occasional & Under Supervision)

  • Assist with basic load-ins and load-outs under direct supervision.
  • Move and place equipment as directed by Leads or Technical Directors.
  • Run and label basic data/power cables or place racks/cases as assigned (no specialty testing or configuration).

Company Support

  • Provide excellent internal customer service and uphold a positive, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and safety sessions.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Experience & Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 0–1 years of warehouse, production, live event, or material-handling experience preferred.
  • Experience with basic hand tools, carts, pallet jacks, or general warehouse equipment a plus.
  • Ability to learn Flex Rental Solutions and warehouse processes (training provided).

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

Work Environment:

  • This position will be split between working in or around a warehouse environment and on event show sites that may be indoors or outdoors and exposed to weather conditions, dirt or dust. 

Physical Demands:

  • Occasional periods of sitting with frequent periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing and balancing.

Lifting:

  • Must be able to lift, carry and exert force up to 75 pounds occasionally.

Vision & Hearing:

  • Must be able to distinguish colors, use close vision for computer screens/documents, use distance vision and have the ability to judge depth perception and spatial awareness for safety precautions.
  • Must be able to hear sufficiently to understand and comprehend individual conversations and listen for potential safety precautions.

Noise:

  • The noise levels in the work environment are usually moderate with standard business office equipment and may increase to occasional loud noise levels with large production gear or equipment moves.
