Description

Bully Pulpit International is an outcomes agency made up of strategists, data scientists, and artists. We come from politics, brands, and government and we communicate without barriers and measure what matters. We have more than 350 team members in six countries and thirteen offices — Berlin, Brussels, Chicago, D.C., London, Los Angeles, New York, Oslo, San Francisco, and Zürich. We apply our unique expertise across strategic communications, public affairs, research, and digital marketing to create sophisticated and customized strategies that make change possible for both American and European clients.

  • Salary range: $90,000 - $105,000
  • Location: Expectation to work from DC, New York, Chicago, SF or LA offices at least 3 days a week

The Impact You Will Make

In this role, you’ll work directly with data and analytics to use new datasets to shape new product offerings for our clients, and improve existing products. You’ll work independently with data to identify key insights that map to business problems in our advertising and strategic communications work and shape those into digestible and client-friendly deliverables that help make our team and clients more effective. You’ll also help scale up new products by acting as an ambassador and support our team members as we teach them how to use new tools to build cutting-edge outputs.

What the Day-to-Day Looks Like

  • Analyze data with R / Python and SQL to produce deliverables like client reports and trend analyses that showcase the benefits of our products and help our clients and team run smarter campaigns
  • Prototype new tools and data sources to evaluate quality and methodology, build proof-of-concept deliverables, and shape feature development
  • Support key product operations and workflows by working with users to solve problems, validating that systems are operating correctly, and identifying needed process improvements
  • Experiment with LLMs and other AI tools in a focused way to identify workflow improvements
  • Work with engineers to implement new data-driven applications and features
  • Support product development and planning by identifying potential new features, helping to shape new products, and evaluate how our existing products are working

Requirements

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of experience working with data and analytics
  • Proficiency using R or Python to analyze datasets and present them in memos / decks and using SQL to analyze data at scale in data warehouses like Snowflake
  • Strong sense for translating data-driven insights into client-friendly visuals and explanations
  • Intellectually curious with a strong sense of data intuition and critical thinking – you think in first principles to untangle thorny problems or figure out how things work. You can spot discrepancies in a data set from a mile away
  • A product-focused mindset – after you’ve done a task for the first time, you can articulate a plan to scale and systematize it across a team
  • A keen eye for detail and visual polish to build client-facing decks and memos that translate complicated data and analytics for non-technical clients and other stakeholders
  • Proven ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences – you can translate between engineer and statistics experts and less-technical stakeholders and clients without losing critical details
  • Deep curiosity about AI and excitement to learn, test, and use new tools
