Janitorial/Porter Job Description

Candidate Qualifications

• Candidates can NOT be union members past or present (32BJ Residential)
• Candidates cannot have applied in the past with a rejection history
• Candidates must have knowledge and/or experience in maintenance or janitorial
• Candidates must be presentable, clean, speak and understand English
• Temporary replacement employee – 5 months with PBM (due to union policy)
• Potential to be hired by our clients (via dispatched locations)
• Preferable candidate that is looking for employment and flexible to work various shifts
• If you are not flexible, you are likely to have limited working hours per week

Requirements

Responsibilities/Job Requirements

• Cleaning hallways, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming carpets
• Bathroom cleaning, surface cleaning, floors and sink/counter area
• Must be physically able to use trash compactor, as needed
• Must address any cleaning issue as requested by building manager
• On the job behavior expectations: professional, focused, no issues/incidents
• Uniforms are provided by PBM and must be worn neat and clean (laundering is employee responsibility)
• Black boots (steel toe) are required (no colored shoes) – for safety & compliance
• Must understand direction and follow accurately
• Assignments will be in different locations throughout NYC, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx
• All buildings are doorman, elevator buildings with amenity spaces (gym, library, waiting rooms, etc.)
• Maintenance of public areas only (entering or cleaning tenant spaces is strictly prohibited)
• You must work your entire shift (leaving early or coming late unless otherwise approved by PBM Manager is prohibited
