Veterans Engineering is seeking a compassionate and skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team in providing advanced care for our tiniest patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). In this role, you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive care for newborns with a variety of medical conditions. You will work closely with neonatologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, family-centered care. The successful candidate will have a passion for neonatal care and the ability to manage complex cases with precision and empathy.

Responsibilities

  • Atrium Health Navicent Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital, located in Macon, Georgia is the only dedicated pediatric hospital in central and south Georgia.
  • Variable shifts including 10 hour days M-TH, 8 hour shifts on weekends, and 1 NNP who covers 16-hour nights 4 days per week. No call.
  • Our practice consists of the 66-bed, state-of-the-art, Level-III NICU
  • Services provided include: high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide and a brain cooling
  • Readily available subspecialty support
  • Exceptional coverage by experienced NNPs
  • Clinical appointment to Mercer Medical School
  • Atrium Health Navicent is a designated Level-I trauma center, one of six designated perinatal/neonatal regional centers in Georgia and three-time Magnet Designated hospital for nursing excellence nationwide

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) designation
  • Current certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
  • Current state RN license and certification in BLS and NRP required
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Valid unrestricted medical license in the State of Georgia (or eligibility to obtain)
  • DEA registration in good standing (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Demonstrated experience in Level II–IV NICU settings Proficiency in neonatal resuscitation, ventilation management, and critical care procedures
  • Strong clinical judgment in managing high-risk neonates and premature infants
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills Current BLS and NRP certification (ACLS preferred)
  • Ability to meet hospital credentialing and privileging requirements

Travel Requirements

Travel to client locations is required for this position and may vary based on project needs.
