About the role
This role will hold overall accountability for shaping the business strategy that advances GARDP’s public health portfolio and for leading the definition of market access strategies for the most advanced products.
Contribution
The BD Head translates strategic intent into operational reality by leading the design, development, and execution of key initiatives. The role encompasses the identification, contracting, and management of collaboration partners, as well as the definition and implementation of optimal market access strategies.
Requirements
Tasks and Responsibilities
· New Partnerships Engagement
o Coordinate the building of GARDP’s portfolio as defined by the GARDP Disease Area Strategy
o Explore potential R&D in-licensing and co-development opportunities. Identify and evaluate new opportunities with a BD perspective
o Structure / negotiate agreements, and all internal GARDP governance meetings about these future agreements
o Represent GARDP in partnering congresses
o Design, implement and monitor GARDP contracting, IP and licensing policy/guidelines centered around conservation, access and sustainability. Ensure effective IP management in all projects.
· Lead the management of existing collaborations with GARDP co-development partners
o Represent GARDP at all project teams and bring the BD component on all discussions
o Ensure alignment with existing contracts and identify / implement any areas of improvement
o Monitor business and financial activities of companies linked to GARDP programmes
· Create the health economic component of GARDP products
o Develop economic analyses questions and frameworks for GARDP products
o Identify and manage partners to support robust economic analyses for each product
o Define and implement market access strategy for GARDP portfolio
o Lead all market access activities needed on GARDP product, support GARDP project team and manage pricing negotiations with GARDP commercial partners
o Support GARDP commercial partners on product launch readiness and lifecycle access planning
o Work with GARDP Medical and Access team on value-story & evidence planning
o Support Forecasting & Financial Impact Analysis for GARDP portfolio
· Lead GARDP Strategic Partnership Committee –
o Develop strategic support (in close relation with the BD Director)
o Manage the meetings and define the outcomes
o Build an internal action plan based on the outcomes, and ensure its implementation

Qualification and Competencies
Qualifications
· M.A. or Ph.D. in one or more of the relevant disciplines or equivalent.
· Minimum 12 years' Senior role
· Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and matrix structure
· Experience of working in public and private sector is highly desirable
