Role Overview:
This role will drive US defense business by aligning CHAOS’ technical capabilities to DOD operational requirements. This role is specifically targeting the United States Navy, but will overlap across the services. The ideal candidate will have a detailed understanding of the Navy’s tactical warfighting needs, the operational environment, strategic plans, and how one “gets stuff done” within the defense industry. You will be equally comfortable in a jacket and tie as when operating from the high seas. Rest assured, no two days will be the same. Be hungry - this role requires strong initiative to learn, drive, and deliver outcomes and flawless execution.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and translate the customer needs. The US military is a demanding customer with a language all its own. This role requires building trust with the customer, being in their environment, and translating those needs back to CHAOS.
- Priorities, requirements and champions. This role will develop intimate knowledge about what is most important, what is authorized, and who cares the most.
- Navigation and partnership. There is a way to get things done - process, money, acquisition, advocacy, and execution. This role will develop the strategy and lead the execution. Success in this role with make CHAOS the military’s most trusted partner.
- Get out of the office. Be where the customer needs us, either in the Pentagon or in the field. Learn and build trust through high-touch engagements. This is your hunting license.
Minimum Requirements:
- Intimate knowledge of the US national security landscape: Strategies, capability gaps, and where to go/who to ask to learn what you don’t.
- Acquisition Understanding: Proven experience in the federal acquisition and budgeting process, requirements generation, and program office role. Who has a budget to put against their priorities.
- Program/Project Management: Proven experience in developing requirements, scoping programs, and delivering to customers in the defense industry.
- Enjoy getting your hands dirty – literally: CHAOS is an engineering-first company with a hardware component. This role will involve getting hands-on hardware in the field with customers.
- Risk tolerance: We intend to go with our customers to where they need us most to deliver.
- Travel: Regular domestic and international travel is required, up to 50%.
- Security Clearance: An existing US security clearance (Secret or above)
Preferred Requirements:
- Radar, RF, sensor, weapons systems, or communications experience.
- Engineering background.
