Role: 

The individual will be responsible for processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices and issuing payment to suppliers. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform the following accounts payable functions for all companies (Dunn-Rite Food Products, Carleton Hatcheries, Sunrise Livehaul MB): 1) receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services; 2) verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures; 3) prepare batches of invoices for data entry and enter invoices for payment; 4) manage the weekly cheque run and prepare vendor cheques for submission. 
  • Maintain vendor master files. 
  • Maintain an accurate and efficient filing system for accounts payable documents. 
  • Maintain and update the Accounts Payable control and policy manuals. 
  • Other accounting related duties as assigned by the Accounting Supervisor. 

    • Requirements

  • Knowledge of accounts payable and maintaining general ledgers. 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial and employee files. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Sound analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. 
  • Very effective organizational skills and time management skills. 
  • Effective written and oral communication skills. 
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy is necessary. 
  • Strong Excel skills. 
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent. Courses in Accounting or Business Administration are an asset.  Accounts Payable Certification would also be an asset. 
  • 2-3 years’ experience in Accounts Payable and/or an Accounting environment.

    Please note that the expected new hire salary range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Sunrise Farms. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
