At LeoLabs, we’re building the living map of activity in space. Through our proprietary global radar network and AI-enabled analytics platform, we collect millions of measurements daily on more than 24,000 objects in low Earth orbit (LEO). Our radar-powered intelligence protects billions in assets, monitors adversarial behavior, and ensures safe operations for commercial and government missions.
We’re not just building technology, we are redefining global security, safety, and transparency in space. As orbital activity accelerates and threats grow more complex, LeoLabs is a trusted partner for Space Domain Awareness, Space Traffic Management, and Satellite Operations for top-tier space operators and allied defense organizations.
If you're looking to work on mission-critical challenges at the forefront of aerospace, national security, and AI, your impact starts here.
The Opportunity
At LeoLabs, our Hardware Engineering Team designs, develops, manufactures, and deploys the advanced radar systems that provide persistent orbital intelligence to our customers worldwide. As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you’ll dive straight into hands-on work with cutting-edge radar technology while supporting the development, testing, and integration of new hardware. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers, operate lab equipment, and contribute directly to active radar programs.
During your internship, you will also lead your own project like designing and building a custom PCB, while supporting day-to-day lab activities that keep our radar development moving forward.
What You’ll Do
·Operate RF lab equipment including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
·Support bring-up, testing, and troubleshooting of radar electronics and subsystems.
·Perform soldering, rework, and basic PCB assembly or modification tasks.
·Assist in data collection and analysis for hardware verification.
·Collaborate with engineers to review schematics and layouts in Altium Designer or similar tools.
·Own a hands-on design project, such as developing, fabricating, and testing a small PCB to support radar system development.
What We’re Looking For
·Currently pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
·Rising junior or senior (expected graduation 2026 or 2027).
·Strong interest in hardware design, testing, and hands-on lab work.
·Familiarity with lab instrumentation and electrical test fundamentals.
·Experience with or exposure to eCAD tools (Altium Designer preferred).
·Comfortable working independently with guidance in a collaborative lab environment.
You’ll Gain Experience In
·Real-world electrical and RF testing procedures.
·PCB design, fabrication, rework, and bring-up.
·Hardware debugging and measurement documentation.
·Exposure to radar system development and integration workflows.
All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identify, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
