Your Role

As part of our UK team, you will play a key role in shaping patient access to innovative treatments.

 

The Market Access and Payer Strategy Lead is responsible for developing and validating market access activities across the UK portfolio. Working in close partnership with the National Market Access Manager, you will drive payer strategy, collaborative access initiatives, advocacy, market insights, and evidence generation, all while ensuring compliance with the ABPI Code of Practice.

 

This role offers you the opportunity to:

 

Payer Marketing and Strategy Development

  • Lead the creation and testing of innovative payer marketing material plans designed to strengthen brand presence and deliver against business objectives.
  • Collaborate effectively across functions to ensure market access strategies are fully aligned with overarching business goals.

Collaborative Market Access Initiatives

  • Partner with the National Field Access Manager to design and execute impactful Payer Advisory Boards and targeted market research initiatives, enhancing and refining the payer value access strategy.

Strategic Leadership and Advocacy

  • Act as a trusted advisor and thought leader, championing the market access function both internally and externally.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders - including policymakers, regional and national payers, and healthcare providers to influence and expand market access opportunities for LEO Pharma.

Market Insights and Environmental Monitoring

  • Continuously monitor and assess the UK market access environment, including relevant policies, regulations, and competitive trends, to guide strategic decisions.
  • Actively participate in congresses, policy reviews, and ABPI Market Access Workstreams, delivering actionable insights and recommendations to the Market Access Leadership Team.

Compliance and Best Practice Adherence

  • Ensure all strategies, materials, and activities strictly comply with the ABPI Code of Practice and all applicable regulations, upholding the highest ethical and professional standards.

Your Qualifications

To succeed in this role, we imagine that you have the following qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Healthcare Management, Public Health, Economics, Business, or a closely related discipline. An advanced qualification such as an MBA, MSc, or PhD is highly desirable.
  • Significant experience in market access, health economics, pricing, reimbursement, or payer strategy within the pharmaceutical sector. This includes developing and implementing successful access strategies, navigating complex UK regulatory frameworks, and ensuring that innovative therapies reach the patients who need them.
  • A demonstrated ability to build, nurture, and influence high-value relationships with diverse stakeholders - including regional and national payers, policymakers, NHS decision-makers, healthcare providers, and cross-functional internal teams.
  • Proven success in persuading and aligning stakeholders around shared objectives in competitive and evolving healthcare environments.
  • Deep understanding of the UK healthcare ecosystem, including NHS commissioning processes, funding flows, policy drivers, and decision-making criteria used by payers.
