Location: Bar Down at the Grand Lodge on Peak 7, Breckenridge, Colorado

Position Type: Seasonal, Non-Exempt

Compensation: $14.50+gratuties

Schedule:  Varied, including weekends, days, evenings and holidays.

As a Cashier at Bar Down, located in the Grand Lodge on Peak 7, you are a vital ambassador of that promise, serving as the welcoming face and efficient engine behind our express window operations. From accurately processing orders and collaborating with the kitchen to maintaining a stocked and inviting station, your friendly demeanor and sharp attention to detail directly uphold our renowned standards of hospitality.

This is a seasonal position running from December 1, 2024, through April 30, 2025. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be available for the entire season. 


Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary, welcoming point of contact for all takeout and express window guests.
  • Accurately take and process guest orders using the POS system, confirming modifications and final totals.
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions quickly and accurately.
  • Work closely with the line cook to assemble, pack, and present orders, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Serve beverages and express menu items promptly to maintain a fast and efficient service flow.
  • Monitor, restock, and maintain supplies for the express window, including condiments, packaging, utensils, and beverages.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area at the express window, counter, and guest pickup zones.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and managers to coordinate order timing and resolve any guest concerns quickly.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service guidelines to ensure compliance with health standards.
  • Uphold the company's hospitality values by greeting everyone with enthusiasm, treating all with respect, and creating positive interactions.
  • Support other team areas during peak times or as directed by management.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain a Colorado Responsible Alcohol Vendor Training Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Strong multitasking and time-management skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and a genuine guest-service attitude.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Capability to lift up to 40 pounds (e.g., beverage cases, supply boxes).
  • Basic mathematical skills to handle cash and credit transactions accurately.
  • Reliable, with a flexible schedule that includes weekends and peak service hours.
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate clearly in English.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a restaurant, cashier, or counter-service role.
  • Existing Colorado Responsible Alcohol Vendor Training Certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Experience in a high-volume food and beverage environment.
