Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Security Programmer to join our security business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Program/ configure, commission, and maintain medium to large sized Mission Critical Security (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion), related systems and/or projects.
  • Program/ configure basic system integrations between related security systems and other related system components.
  • Terminate associated cables and wires on related control panels and other system components.
  • Effectively configure a subnet and use appropriate IP addressing schemes.
  • Accurately and efficiently diagnose and trouble shoot system problems at the software layer.
  • Provide creative solutions to technical challenges; Demonstrate skills required to manage and troubleshoot computer hardware and peripheral devices.
  • Apply SME in Security technologies to effectively train end users on the products and solutions we provide.
  • Leverage experience to provide recommendations to our clients for improved security protocols, safety policies, and procedures.
  • Provide support to PMO, Engineering and Sales teams to support project implementation and new sales opportunities.
  • Effectively mentor and teach other Mission Critical/ Security focused team members.
  • Create and help implement installation best practices specific to Mission Critical/ Security technologies, and the products and solutions we provide.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 4-6 years in Security (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion), industry with a deep understanding of the technologies used
  • 4-6 years in the installation, support, programming, maintaining, and servicing of low voltage systems, primarily security industry
  • Security (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion), Industry experience required
  • Experience commissioning Mission Critical Systems- Security (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion) required
  • Experience with enterprise security concepts and wireless security protocols required
  • Experience with networking concepts/ topologies, network devices, their features and placement within a network required.
  • Experience with the following systems preferred: Genetec, DMP, Avigilon, Hirsch, Bosch, Milestone
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of: IP Networks, Wireless Networks, Microsoft Windows OS, SQL Platforms, Server Virtualization
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals regarding physical security standards and designs
  • Ability to test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications
  • Must have good technical and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated knowledge of how electrical and power requirements are applied to the components of a security solution
  • Must be able to deal with difficult customers and situations and resolve conflicts
  • Excellent decision making, customer service and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret project scopes, one lines, floor plans, submittals, specifications, test reports and other related project documentation
  • Ability to demonstrate persistence, tactfulness, and responsibility; maintain silence regarding confidential information; make decisions based on personal judgement and verifiable criteria; deal effectively with people in actual job duties beyond giving and receiving instruction
  • General understanding of different industry protocols and communications standards
  • OSHA 10 required
  • A valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
  • Must be able to travel throughout New England as required (RI, MA, NH, ME)
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation if a company vehicle is not provided
  • Must be able to work off hours if/when projects require it (second and third shift)
  • Must be able to participate in the Service Department on-call rotation, as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with integrated security control systems (lock control) within Detention Facilities, Prisons, and Courts and other sensitive environments preferred
  • Industry specific certifications preferred
  • MA Class D, Systems Technician License preferred
  • RI TST License(s) preferred
