The Prince George's County Board of Elections is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a temporary Election Judge Technician (Data Coordinator), grade G13 position, in various divisions. 

About the Position  

The Prince George's County Board of Elections is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a temporary Data Coordinator position, in various Divisions as an Election Judge Technician, Warehouse Technician and Drob Box Driver. Incumbent will also perform tasks and duties as assigned within responsibility level of this class of work. Incumbents in this position are considered an "Essential Employee," during an election cycle.  The election cycle begins three (3) months prior to an election and one (1) month following the election.  As an "Essential Employee," you will not be authorized to take a leave of absence, and you will be required to work specified weekends and holidays.  The incumbent in this position must be able to lift and carry supplies/equipment up to sixty (60) pounds and must have excellent computer, data entry and analytical skills.

About the Agency 

The mission of the Prince George's County Board of Elections is to promote voter education, administer an efficient voting process, maintain an accurate voter registration database, and ensure that elected officials are elected in accordance with Federal, State, and County election laws. The Board of Elections is responsible for the supervision of elections, voter registration and record keeping, and the administration of election laws in Prince George's County, in accordance with The Election Law Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland. The Board and the Election Administrator seek to provide voter registration to every County citizen who wants it.

Position Duties


  • Prepares voting units and electronic pollbooks for all elections.
  • Ensures that voting units and electronic pollbooks are properly charged and stored.
  • Inventories and stores confidential election related materials.
  • Delivers and pick-up necessary supplies from Board of Elections headquarters.
  • Packs and disseminates election day supplies.
  • Conducts logic and accuracy testing of all voting equipment.
  • Assists with training coordination and Election Day polling place activities.
  • Assists with Election Judges supply and pick-up.
  • Assists with training of election day workers.
  • Assists judges in troubleshooting problems and provides instructions on the electronic pollbook and voting units.
  • Experiences using computers with script copy.
  • Assists with installing State required elections software, patches on election equipment and during Post maintenance.
  • Pickup and transfers mail in ballots from various dropboxes.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Six months of experience at a Data Entry Operator II level. 
                                                           or 
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate with training in basic computer systems. 
  • Two (2) years experience in data entry/processing.

Conditions of Employment: Upon selection, the candidate must:  

  • Be a resident and registered voter in the State of Maryland.
  • Have reliable transportation as travel to polling places and drop boxes is required.
  • Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate proficiency as required by the agency.  
  • Wear and use agency protective apparel and equipment in the performance of their assigned duties, if applicable. 
  • Successfully pass preemployment checks which may include reference checks, background investigations, and drug screenings, where applicable. 
  • Be willing and able to serve as an essential employee. Essential employees are expected to report during standard or non-standard hours as operations necessitate, or during emergencies. Essential employees are expected to report or remain at work when other County employees are granted Administrative Leave. 
  • Be willing to adhere to the nature of the service provided by this agency, all employees are considered essential during an election cycle.  The election cycle begins three months prior to an election and continues one month following the election or until the election is certified.  As an essential employee you WILL NOT be authorized to take leave during an election cycle. Additionally, you will be required to work specified weekends and holidays.
